THE RED CAT IN THE PRESS
|
B-Metro (April 2011): In his feature piece on the "Ten Hot Spots for Coffee" in the Birmingham area, photojournalist Jason Horn places The Red Cat in the number one spot. He snapped a few photos of latte art by Birmingham's "Best Barista," our very own Leslie Threlkeld, and gives the place high marks for roasting coffee on site and for being a bustling hub of activity in the morning and a hopping music venue most weekend nights. |

Birmingham Magazine (March 2011): Edtor Julie Keith featured The Red Cat in BM's "Entrepreneur" column, with photos by Rob Culpepper. The article details the history and the concept behind The Red Cat. She touches on the indie-folk music scene here and our quest for quality. She also mentions our next big project: establishing direct trade relationships with coffee farmers! |

CITY SCENE (Birmingham News, March 2011): Mary Colurso tells audiences to "prepare to purr" as Ellis Paul, award-winning folk star from Boston, takes the stage at The Red Cat. This two-page spread article is really an extended interview with the songwriter, with topics ranging from his prolific career to how his latest album came to be. Ellis played to a packed house, by the way, and lit the place on fire with his music. The really cool news in all of this is that Ellis Paul is coming back to The Red Cat the day after Thanksgiving! |
